Near perfect wedge!, December 22, 2011 By Shmoo (New York City) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Dr. Martens Women's Leanne Motorcycle Boot (Apparel) Okay, I am annoyingly particular about boots, so haven't been able to find an awesome, affordable wedge boot with a heel under 4 inches (and yet above 3), with just the right toe shape, the perfect rise to the knee, a wedge that isn't too chunky or tapered, and a circumference that works for my 'athletic' calves. These are a great blend of functional and sexy- industrial yet refined. They are incredibly comfortable even without an insert but heavenly with. My only issue is that the toe shape is a tad too 'dainty', especially for Docs. It truly is almond-y and doesn't curve upward off the ground much in profile, if that makes sense. Yet somehow the 'Leanne' has allowed me to venture with confidence toward a more feminine boot. They look amazing with skinny jeans tucked in, but even better with a mini skirt and tights. I have the brown ones- but hope to get the black soon. I wear a 7.5 and got the UK 5, which is roomy enough for socks but not too loose with tights. I am soooo happy with... Read more

They are still in great shape, which is why when I saw Dr Martens heels, I had to buy them. I am not disappointed. I bought these in black and brown (three pay month -- thank you!), thinking I'd return one or both depending on how they fit. I kept both. First off, these are sturdy. I'm not a fan of wedges, but I make the exception with these. The rubber bottoms do not slide -- at all. Even on the grass. They absorb much of the shock the foot experiences when walking, especially on cement. The footbed is a bit large for my size 6 foot, but great for an insert, which is how I prefer to wear my shoes. I added a simple cushion/arch insert, and they feel even better. The lace-up front allows you to adjust the boot for your calf thickness -- one of my calves is larger than the other -- and the zipper allows easy on/off.
Style? Please. It's Dr Martens. They look great with a skirt, jeans, pants, or lingerie. ;) You can wear... Read more

They are comfortable (for high heels) and I you can go dancing in them too!. Look great with dresses and jeans.
